Bad Apple, no bite.
Aug. 4th, 2012 10:10 amI got Mountain Lion the other day. Upgraded from Snow Leopard. So far it's been unexciting, and actually not a great experience. Snow Leopard was wonderful.
So I found out it does speech to text (Dictation). Coooool. I open up TextEdit to give it a spin, flip on Dictation, and it informs me that not only is the data going to be sent to Apple for processing, so are my contacts (and possibly other, unspecified data).
How is this even remotely acceptable? Apple does NOT need to know my contacts... and probably doesn't need to know anything else besides the voice data payload - which, by the way, could probably be done quite handily on my i7 MBP. NOT ACCEPTABLE, APPLE. TAKE YOUR FRUIT ELSEWHERE.
